The SRC Band-Aid Fund is to assist SRC members with medical treatment expenses after a motorcycle mishap. It is like the International Special Fund, but with fewer restrictions.  This fund is not an insurance policy and is not guaranteed. Members are encouraged to carry sufficient medical insurance coverage. The fund is meant to assist with the member's out-of-pocket expenses such as medical bill deductibles, and non-covered expenses incurred at the time of initial treatment.

General Facts:

• Funds will not be issued to repair the motorcycle or property damage.
• Funds will only be given if available.
• This fund is only for "SRC" Blue Knights members in good standing.
• SRC Blue Knights members are eligible no matter where the incident happens.
• Member must not be operating their motorcycle in an unlawful or reckless manner at the time of the incident.
• There is no requirement that you be attending a Blue Knights-sanctioned ride or advertised event.
• Your chapter does not have to donate to the fund for you to qualify.

Application:
To apply for funds, the President of the member’s chapter must send an email to the SRC Board explaining the details of the incident and the member's expenditure of funds for treatment. The email must request the amount desired. Three (3) of the five (5) SRC Board members must approve before funds will be dispersed.

Amount:
The fund will provide up to $500 dollars an incident requiring outpatient care. The fund will provide up to $1000 dollars for an incident that results in an overnight or longer hospital stay. Only one payout will be issued to a member for a specific incident. Funds will be paid to the member by a check issued from the SRC Treasurer.

If the impacted member is eligible for funds from the Blue Knights Board of Governors Special Fund, then the member must apply for those funds before requesting Band-Aid Fund assistance. If the member is allotted payment from the Special Fund, then funds from the SRC Band-Aid Fund will not be paid out.

Funding:
Starting Jan 1st, 2020, the SRC will begin collecting for the SRC Band-Aid Fund. Contributions to the fund are voluntary. The fund's sustainability will be possible due to the generosity of Blue Knight members. Chapters and/or individual members may make donations of any size any time during the year.

Band-Aid Fund donations and proceeds from fundraisers designed to support the fund (i.e. poker runs or raffles) will be sent directly to the SRC Treasurer. The SRC Treasurer will document the amounts of donations and payouts on a separate line on the SRC financial report.

SRC State Representatives Guidelines

Below is an excerpt from the SRC State Representatives Guidelines document. There is a link to the entire document at the bottom of this page.

State Representative (State Rep) positions are voluntary and carry no compensation or right of reimbursement for travel, registration fees, or other such expenses associated with fulfillment of duties. State Reps serve only in an advisory and liaison capacity to Chapters and the SRC Executive Board and have no direct authority over Chapter or SRC operations.

Consideration for appointments to the position of State Rep shall be based upon the recommendation of a Chapter President, or a Chapter's full Executive Board when a President of said Chapter is submitted for consideration. Additionally, consideration for appointment to the position of State Rep may be based upon the recommendation of an SRC Executive Board member.

Generally, State Rep positions are to be 2-year terms and awarded by the SRC Executive Board in the even-numbered years, after the fall SRC Executive Board elections. A minimum of one (1) representative per State shall be appointed. One (1) State Rep per ten (10) Chapters is the general recommendation. Additionally, it will be at the discretion of the SRC Executive Board to appoint State Reps as needed to fill vacancies or to appoint additional State Reps in consideration of specific needs. Consideration of geographical areas and proximity to Chapters, as well as the number of Chapters and Chapter demographics in a State, may be among the contributing factors considered when appointing additional representatives per State.

State Reps shall be accountable to the SRC Executive Board, and overall to the SRC membership. With respect to a Chain of Command, State Reps shall primarily report directly to a designated SRC Executive Board member. Such designation will be made in written communication from the SRC Executive Board and is subject to change with the installment of a newly elected Board or as deemed necessary. Currently, State Reps will report directly to the Vice-Chairman but shall answer questions and requests for all SRC Executive Board members.

SRC Conference Hosting Guidelines

The SRC holds two membership conferences annually (bi-annual), a Spring and Fall Conference. Conference dates and locations are granted via a bid process and voted on by the Presidents (or their authorized representative) in attendance at the bi-annual business meeting in which the bids are presented.

Below is an excerpt from the SRC By-Laws concerning the election of officers for the SRC Executive Board.

CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS

ARTICLE IV,  SECTION 1

All Executive Board members are elected by a majority vote of the chapter Presidents, or their written delegates.
30 days prior to the scheduled election meeting, the election committee will open electronic ballots for the
election, one to each Chapter in good standing. At the fall bi-annual meeting of every odd numbered year, the
elected officers will be sworn in at the conclusion of the Conference banquet.

The Executive Board of the Conference consists of the Chairman, Vice Chairman, International Representative,
Secretary and the Treasurer, hereinafter referred to as, “the Executive Board,” of the Conference. All Conference
officers are acutely aware of their responsibilities to assume the posture of their office and be cognizant of the
overall group they represent in their actions and the positions they express in public.

A. A member wanting to run for a position on the SRC Board shall submit their name, desired position, and a list of qualifications for the position. Submissions will be made to the conference Secretary, in
writing no later than 60 days prior to the spring biannual meeting of every odd year. Only a current
Chapter President or a Past President may be nominated for the Chairman, Vice Chairman or
International Representatives positions. The Secretary and Treasurer positions may be held by regular
members, all must be in good standing. Associate and honorary members may not hold any
conference offices either by election or appointment.

B. Nominations from the floor at the time of the President’s meeting will be accepted in the event there
are no qualified candidates submitting prior written notice for a position. All nominated members for
all positions must be present to accept the nomination.

C. Open campaigning may take place after the nomination meeting.

D. An election committee will be convened at the spring meeting after nominations are accepted by the
SRC Officers and approved by the members.

E. All voting will be electronic and no in-person ballots will be tallied.

F. If electronic voting cannot be held due to circumstances outside the control of the conference, then
in person, balloting will be held at the election meeting which is the Fall SRC Presidents meeting in od
numbered years.

G. In the event that a special election needs to be held, it will be conducted by electronic voting.
